12 hours!
May 27, 2011

This weekend we are playing at what seems like a small and cozy festival on the swedish countryside.. Finspång and the 12hours festival! You can see an interview in swedish here. Its the first gig after our amazing Germany/Austria tour so we are looking forward to being on stage again. And its the first gig without Henrik so we are going to do it with guest drummer Anton from Act Like This.

Nothing lasts forever.

After 6 awesome years of being the drummer in Scarlet Drop my time has finally come to an end. When the band started I wasn’t married or a father, and I was able to dedicate loads of my time to the band. Now I’m both a husband and a father of 2 children so my priorities have changed, the band is constantly moving further to it’s goal and I feel like I’m slowing it down. My decision to quit the band wasn’t at all easy, but it was for the best for everyone.

My time in Scarlet Drop has been memorable and fun.
Some great moments in particular our trip to Egypt, Malta and Germany. Undoubtably the recent tour which ended with recording songs in the studio. I’m going to miss being part of the band and everyone I meet when we have shows, but maybe one day we will meet again, at least I hope so.

Last but not least I want to wish Scarlet Drop good luck and God’s blessing. Thank you Simon, Graziella and Leah for these 6 years of being a part of the band and of your life.

For us Henrik leaving us wasn’t a surprise, its something we have been openly talking about for quite a while.. It is sad but fully understandable and I do support Henrik’s decision.. It really feels like a new chapter for the band now, the tour was amazing and changed our perspectives and gave us a boost of energy and we are really hopeful about the new adventures coming up! Sadly these will be without Henrik and hence the first adventure is finding a new drummer.. But thank you Henrik for being an awesome band mate musically and socially and we´ll always have awesome memories of “back in the days”! 🙂

I hate Goodbyes.. they’re never good. But everything comes to end at some point we just have to face it,  deal with it and move on. I think it’s going to be hard to find someone to replace Henrik, it’s not just music that the new drummer will replace but how he /she is with us on tour/shows and in the band room. Everything works together. Thanks Henrik for a great years you will be missed!

This sucks!! but as Simon mentioned.. it was no surprise. Henrik will be dearly missed. I think he’ll miss picking on me for no particular reason, and I will have to start all over again with how I should communicate all my drum ideas to the next drummer. hehe. Scarlet Drop is what it is because of the four of us who started it six years ago, and I’m curious to see how the band will develop and sound like once the new drummer kicks in.

In the mean time I wish Henrik all the best in all he does, and hopefully now he can spend more time with his family. I would also like to thank Anna his wife for the support and patience she’s had over the last few years. We love you for that Anna. With this chapter closed, let’s take a deep breathe, gather our thoughts and open the fresh new pages to a new SD chapter.
